Carreras receives the visit of a delegation from the European Parliament to its central facilities

  • MEPs visited Aragon to learn about its logistics potential in the European Union
  • In 2025, Carreras will expand its PLAZA logistics warehouse by around 10,000 m2 and build 22,000 m2 of parking space with a capacity for 114 trucks

 

Carreras Grupo Logístico received the visit of nine MEPs to its central facilities as part of its visit to the autonomous community of Aragon to learn about its logistics potential. In turn, Carreras announced its project to expand its PLAZA warehouse by around 10,000 m2 and the construction of 22,000 m2 of parking with a capacity for 114 trucks, both projections will be completed this year 2025.

The delegation was led by Elissavet Vozemberg-Vrionidi MEP (EPP, Greece), and composed of MEPs Magdalena Adamowicz (EPP, Poland), Sérgio Humberto (EPP, Portugal), Borja Giménez Larraz (EPP, Spain), Andreas Schieder (S&D, Austria), Rosa Serrano Sierra (S&D, Spain), Margarita de la Pisa Carrión (PfE, Spain), Roberts Zile (ECR, Latvia), and Cynthia Ní Mhurchú (RENEW, Ireland).

Thanks to this visit, this delegation from the European Parliament has had the opportunity to learn more about the connections between the trans-European transport networks, explore the Aragonese logistics sector and meet companies in the transport and logistics sector of the community.

Carreras, together with other companies and organisations such as Inditex, ZLC, TMZ, PLAZA and CETM, had the opportunity to present the company to the nine MEPs. And then, to welcome them on a visit to its central facilities in the Aragonese capital.

In short, Aragon is one of the most powerful regions in the transport and logistics sector given its geographical location, its educational centres, its business fabric, its multimodal freight transport infrastructures and the investments made.
