Carreras participates in PwC’s hydrogen meeting

encuentro

Yesterday Carreras was present at the meeting organized by PwC Spain on “Hydrogen in Logistics Centers: Innovation and Efficiency”.

In this session, they explored the most innovative solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of the logistics sector, with a special focus on hydrogen technologies, offering a decarbonized and efficient alternative.

The urgent need to reduce the carbon footprint in logistics operations and the essential role played by renewable hydrogen in decarbonisation strategies for a more sustainable future were also discussed  . Our colleague Héctor Benito, Director of Sustainability at Carreras, together with Alasdair Leapman (Plug Power) presented their success story of logistics operations with hydrogen, specifically, they presented their success story of the implementation of hydrogen in the internal logistics of the Carreras warehouse in Masquefa. This logistics centre aims to be the first hydrogen ecosystem of a Spanish operator, as well as being a pioneering warehouse in the implementation of green hydrogen, which will be used in the different mobility elements of the centre.

This project is part of the sustainability strategy established by Carreras since 2016, demonstrating the potential of photovoltaic energy for the generation of green hydrogen. It has the support and experience of Toyota, which leads the use of this green fuel in the sector, consolidating its commitment to a more sustainable and efficient future.
