- The mayor of Valladolid and several councillors visit the works of the future warehouse
- This new logistics centre will have a surface area of more than 14,000 m2 and has the BREEAM Excellent sustainability certification
Yesterday, Carreras received a visit to the works of its new warehouse in Valladolid from the mayor of the town, Jesús Julio Carnero, the Councilor for Urban Planning, José Ignacio Zarandona, the Councilor for the Environment, Alejandro García, and the Councilor for Mobility, Alberto Gutiérrez. This meeting was held within the framework of a visit organized by the Association of Businessmen of the San Cristóbal Industrial Estate to said polygon.
This commitment by Carreras Grupo Logístico in Valladolid is materialized with the investment of a logistics center with a total built area of more than 14,000 m2. The work, which began in 2024, will be completed in September 2025. The warehouse will have three storage and dispatch sectors. In turn, the warehouse will have the capacity to manage the storage and handling of goods in three temperatures: ambient, controlled (from 14 to 18 Cº) and refrigerated (from 2 to 6 Cº).

Regarding the technical specifications of the warehouse, it is a construction with the BREEAM Excellent certification, of excellence in sustainability. In turn, the facilities have received the A energy certificate, for high energy efficiency.
As for the warehouse, with a high height and 20 loading docks, its structure will have superior insulation, which will reduce energy expenditure, while increasing safety.
In the words of the company: “Through this investment, we strengthen our capacity and presence in Castilla y León, while creating new jobs, and boosting the logistics and transport sector in this territory”. The ship is very very well connected to several roads and is easily accessible via public transport.

For a decade, Carreras’ logistics facilities have been powered by 100% renewable energy, i.e. both heating and air conditioning systems, lighting and forklifts consume electricity generated from renewable energy sources.
But the logistics operator is going a step further, since it also self-produces a significant part of the energy it uses while minimising consumption. A large part of the consumption will be generated directly by the photovoltaic installations planned in the warehouse.
Carreras Grupo Logístico is a logistics operator characterised by quality and investment in its own facilities, since in addition to supplying green energy to its systems, its latest buildings have been built with sustainable means of construction and in accordance with sustainability criteria.
