Carreras, IBM and Seidor successfully launch a generative Artificial Intelligence pilot project for the comparison of supplier offers

Using IBM watsonx.ai capabilities, this project, in which SEIDOR has collaborated, analyzes the specifications using advanced natural language analysis

Carreras Grupo Logístico and IBM, with the collaboration of SEIDOR, have developed a pilot project to automatically compare offers from suppliers in tenders, through the use of generative Artificial Intelligence. Thanks to this innovative tool, which integrates the latest and most advanced AI functionalities, the logistics operator increases the efficiency of comparative analysis and improves strategic decision-making.

This project is aimed at the purchasing area of Carreras, which, aligned with the company’s digital transformation plan, is constantly seeking to renew and update its processes and systems. In this case, the pilot project has consisted of the development of a tool that facilitates the comparison of supplier offers using generative AI.

SEIDOR, as IBM’s strategic partner in this initiative, has collaborated in the implementation and customization of the solution. In addition, IBM, Carreras and SEIDOR have used the collaborative methodology of the IBM Client Engineering team, making the tool adapt to the specific needs of the purchasing area of Carreras Grupo Logístico.

For Carreras, “this pilot project that we have carried out together with the technological partners IBM and Seidor is a step forward in the digitalization of the company through collaboration.”

“At IBM, we believe that technology should solve real business problems, and this project is a great example. With watsonx, IBM’s portfolio of AI products, Carreras has taken an important step towards the digitization of its strategic processes, demonstrating how, through innovation, we can transform challenges into business value,” said Ana Rivera, director of the IBM Client Engineering team that developed the solution.

“For SEIDOR, this collaboration with IBM reinforces our commitment to offer innovative solutions adapted to the needs of each client, positioning us as a key ally for organizations that, like Carreras, seek to boost their competitiveness with the use of AI. SEIDOR’s experience and technical knowledge allow us to turn technological innovation into a key driver for business success,” said Pilar Liñán, Head of Data & AI Sales at SEIDOR.

The solution addresses challenges such as the heterogeneity of bid formats and the high volume of documents that Carreras receives during bidding processes. Using the capabilities of watsonx.ai, an enterprise-grade study for AI creators, the tool analyzes specifications using advanced natural language understanding; that is, AI is capable of interpreting text in a similar way to how a person would. With this capability, it generates key questions that must be answered in the offers received and automatically checks if they meet the established requirements.

It then assesses each proposal based on its degree of compliance, awarding quantitative scores broken down by requirement and facilitating a clear and structured comparison. This approach optimizes analysis times, standardizes the process, and reduces human bias by offering more objective and homogeneous criteria.

This project is part of a strategy of the logistics operator to apply Artificial Intelligence in different processes of its company, to improve productivity in scheduling or in TBO, the management system of Carreras Grupo Logístico. The goals are to improve operational efficiency, optimize processes, and increase user satisfaction.
