The logistics operator incorporates safer and more sustainable vehicles

Carreras Grupo Logístico continues to expand its fleet with the addition of 109 new Scania vehicles between 2024 and 2025.

The vehicles purchased are V8 tractors, which provide robustness and reliability, while guaranteeing more safety, sustainability and efficiency even on demanding routes.

The new models stand out for their high-performance engine, reaching up to 770 hp and 3,700 Nm of torque, ideal for demanding applications such as towing of up to 70 tonnes. They offer outstanding efficiency with fuel savings, which can be increased with the G33 gearbox.

In addition, they reduce AdBlue consumption thanks to advanced SCR technologies. They are compatible with renewable fuels such as HVO and biodiesel, contributing to a lower carbon footprint. Its lighter and more efficient architecture, with engines up to 80 kg lighter and improved turbochargers, bolsters energy efficiency. Finally, its robust design guarantees greater durability, better maintenance and a high residual value.

There are multiple benefits that Carreras finds in Scania vehicles, such as their power, efficiency and sustainability, “which is key to aligning our transport with our ambitious safety and sustainability policy”, says the logistics operator.

Scania, for its part, emphasises that “these vehicles provide reliability, technological innovation and compatibility with renewable fuels such as HVO”.

This eagerness to develop sustainable transport and logistics – a fundamental pillar in the corporate and business strategy for Carreras – is materialized in different recognitions that correspond to a constant effort by Carreras to develop its different logistics activities in an environmentally friendly way. On the one hand, AECOC has awarded the operator its third Lean & Green star, which certifies that it has reduced its CO2 emissions by more than 35% compared to its base year 2016. Likewise, CEPSA (MOEVE) awarded Carreras with the Award for the most sustainable transport company in 2024.

On the other hand, this acquisition is also aligned with Carreras’ policy of promoting the well-being of transport professionals.

In 2025, Carreras has become the first European logistics operator to receive the Responsible Shipper Certificate (CCR), a distinction that recognises good practices in the supply chain.
