In turn, the Jos\u00e9 Luis Carreras Lario Award for innovation and sustainability was presented. This event was aimed at the entire scientific-technical and business community with an interest in logistics, transport or the supply chain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting was inaugurated by <strong>Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez Bedia<\/strong>, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer and Lifelong Learning of the University of Zaragoza, together with <strong>Jes\u00fas Royo,<\/strong> director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/catedracarreras.unizar.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Carreras Chair.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this occasion, the event was attended by prominent speakers who discussed the latest <strong>trends, challenges and solutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-34141 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Gran Consumo\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1000128450.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Carlos S\u00e1nchez,<\/strong> Chief Operations Officer of <strong>Deoleo<\/strong>, was in charge of starting this cycle of presentations with<strong> &#8216;Towards digitalisation in Deoleo&#8217;s logistics&#8217;.<\/strong> S\u00e1nchez highlighted the needs that customers demand today: <strong>&#8220;They want products sooner, with better quality and more varied&#8221;.<\/strong> For this reason, Deoleo, which has a global supply chain, establishes a route to operational excellence based on digitalisation and setting two clear objectives, <strong>&#8220;to think in anticipation and to look for alternatives&#8221;,<\/strong> says S\u00e1nchez.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Afterwards, we were able to listen to <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Zirulnikow,<\/strong> Supply Chain Director Iberia at <strong>Ferrero,<\/strong> with his talk entitled <strong>&#8216;DEEP DATA!&#8217;,<\/strong> in which he spoke about technological tools and their key role in achieving agile communication between the different parts of the supply chain. In fact, Zirulnikow insists that there is a huge variety of them that will allow<strong> &#8220;the integration of systems, predictive models, intelligent alerts and collaborative dashboards, we will be data managers&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next, <strong>Raimundo Gonzalo<\/strong>, CEO of <strong>BAOBAD SupplyOps, <\/strong>\u00a0presented us through his conference<strong> &#8216;Transforming operations. AI Decision&#8217;<\/strong> the multiple possibilities offered by the simulation of scenarios to improve the operations developed by logistics operators given that <strong>&#8220;on many occasions determining the objective through a simulation, that is, establishing theoretical improvements that are then applied to solve problems of reality&#8221;, <\/strong>explains Gonzalo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And, finally,<strong> Francisco Aranda,<\/strong> president <strong>of UNO, the Spanish Logistics and Transport Business Organization,<\/strong> put the finishing touch to the round of presentations with <strong>&#8216;Mass Consumption Logistics in the new context of permacrisis&#8217;<\/strong>. Aranda says that a transport and logistics company is currently expected to be <strong>&#8220;a partner in this transformation that transmits confidence, transparency and long-term vision&#8221;.<\/strong> In turn, he listed the different problems faced by the sector such as absenteeism, the lack of drivers and the general rise in costs, as well as the challenges to face the energy transition. However, Aranda says that Spain is<strong> &#8220;a magnificent country for logistics&#8221;<\/strong> given its capacity, connections and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>IV Edition of the Jos\u00e9 Luis Carreras Lario Award: Innovation and Academic Sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter presentations, the awards ceremony of the <strong>Fourth Edition of the Jos\u00e9 Luis Carreras Lario Award for innovation and sustainability began.<\/strong> An emotional and special event for Carreras Grupo Log\u00edstico as it honours the memory of <strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis Carreras, a director of the transport and logistics sector who also stood out for his involvement in various business associations and Aragonese society.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this edition, the winners in the category of Best Academic Work have been <strong>Javier Frechilla<\/strong>, for his master&#8217;s thesis: <strong>&#8220;Analysis of the application of laser technology for the production of hydrogen&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong>Ra\u00fal Iranzo<\/strong> for his master&#8217;s thesis: <strong>&#8220;SLAM Monocular at Metric Scale in Colonoscopy&#8221;.<\/strong> Also, a second prize has been awarded to<strong> Cristian Bar\u00f3n<\/strong>, for his master&#8217;s thesis: <strong>&#8220;Modeling of a Calcium-Looping plant: techno-economic comparison with other technologies in the steel industry&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chair of Sustainability and Logistics Innovation Careers was founded on September 21, 2011 by the <strong>University of Zaragoza and Carreras Logistics Group.<\/strong> Its objective is to contribute to the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grupocarreras.com\/sostenibilidad-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Supply Chain, innovation and sustainable
