The Miguel Carreras Foundation presents the V Edition of the José Luis Carreras Lario Award for Innovation and Sustainability

The Miguel Carreras Foundation announces the fifth edition of the José Luis Carreras Lario Award for Innovation and Sustainability, an award in tribute to the Aragonese businessman who died in 2020.

José Luis Carreras, CEO of Carreras Grupo Logístico, was a prominent executive in the transport and logistics sector who also stood out for his involvement in various business associations and Aragonese society.

The José Luis Carreras award seeks to recognize and value university research work carried out in various educational stages in any sector in Spain.

The deadline for submitting projects is from June 1, 2026 to June 28, 2026, at 12 p.m.

 

Rules and call for the award

The main theme of the award is innovation and sustainability. Academic work that stands out for its contribution to scientific research and development in the field of innovation and sustainability in any field will be awarded. The works that are presented must come from university studies, carried out by students from Spanish universities. They must also be filed during the previous year, i.e. between 1 February 2025 and 1 April 2026.

The  two winners will be endowed with a prize of 3,000 euros each, with a runner-up prize of 1,000 euros.

The jury will be made up of relevant people from the field of economics and training, professional and educational associations, public administrations and ZLC (Zaragoza Logistics Center).

The awards ceremony will take place during the Twelfth Meeting of the Chair of Sustainability and Logistics Innovation Careers of the University of Zaragoza, an event in which a space for social interaction will be developed and the shortlisted will have the opportunity to present their work.
