Transport with Renewed Fleet and Duotrailers

The optimisation of its means of transport, through the renewal and increase of its fleet, with vehicles that pollute less and less, the lightening of its platforms, and the use of duo-trailers.

Use of biofuels

Carreras is working on the decarbonisation of land transport by betting on renewable fuels. In this way, the operator moves faster towards environmentally friendly transport and logistics.

Our Sustainability Formula

The company is inspired by the phrase of a fable by Dr Seuss, who says that “if someone like you doesn’t care a lot about something, don’t expect them to get better. It’s not going to get better.” In line with this concept, it has designed the following formula, which affects its main activities and lines of business in the company.

The main purpose of this formula is to:

Carreras achieves second Lean Green star and seeks third

The logistics operator has managed to obtain its second Lean Green star, which certifies that it has reduced 30% of its emissions since its base year established in 2016 and is working to achieve its third star.
Currently, it focuses its efforts on reducing energy consumption and storage through different innovative projects.

Careers committed to sustainability

Carreras Grupo Logístico wins the CEPSA award for the Most Sustainable Transport Company. A recognition that recognises the achievements and sustainability strategy of the logistics operator, one of the company’s central axes.

BMS Project

Intelligent energy-saving algorithm through energy storage in cold mode or internal mobility of the logistics centre. The aim of this project is to apply artificial intelligence during the green energy generation process to store surplus energy in cold mode, so that chillers minimise their start-ups when energy from the photovoltaic installation is not available.

AXLE Project

Project that consists of the generation and storage of energy through the movement of the vehicle to provide cooling. Project that has allowed it to reduce the consumption of the unit’s refrigeration engine by 70%, in collaboration with Lecitrailer Thermo King.

Efficient battery management of your forklifts

Storing energy in the form of internal mobility. That is, optimizing the use of their means of maintenance.

Green hydrogen

The company, in line with its sustainability plan, continues to work on innovation projects, with which it hopes to soon put into production its first internal mobility project using hydrogen.

Carreras’ sustainability strategy is based on alliances with vehicle, platform and forklift manufacturers to reduce consumption, as well as alliances with energy companies such as Repsol or Cepsa, to increase the use of biofuels, and with pallet companies such as Chep, to use recyclable pallets that reduce emissions.

On the other hand, the business group includes wind power generation parks and agricultural holdings with tree plantations that serve for future compensation.
